home security window switches Questions
How can I remove Contraviro and restore Windows Security Center on Windows Vista Home Basic?
I tried to update my parents' expired virus software this evening on their PC, and I managed to somehow get Contraviro on the system. Since this has happened, Windows Security Center has gone wonky and won't switch on. I've tried downloading various Malware detectors that articles online had recommended, but each of them say that they found the infected files but can't for some reason get rid of them. How do I get rid of this detestable invasion and restore my parents' computer to the way it was?
Go to download.com and get Malwarebytes anti-malware, it's free. Run a scan and see if Malwarebytes can remove your threat.

security strobe light Questions
Road vehicle lighting regulations (UK)?
For a home security application, I require a white retro-reflector fitted to the front of my vehicle. The most convenient location is just behind the front grill.
I've read the vehicle lighting regulations 1989 and understand that a white reflector at the front is perfectly legal, but that a single reflector is not. It must be symmetrical. This means me putting a white reflector at each side of the grill. This worries me somewhat as to me it looks like it could be misconstrued as hidden strobe lights - they aren't They are in fact white reflectors as used on a bicycle wheel, thus they are E-coded
Does anyone "in the know" see a problem with this?
I appreciate your thoughts.
Are you worried it may be perceived as an unmarked policecar ---
this is the concern.
I'm not "in the know", but I can't see any problem. If it's likely to attract the attentions of the Constable of the Parish you will be able to show what they are and prove that they are not strobe lights.
Or are you worried your car will be mistaken for an unmarked police car...?
**EDIT**
I'm not sure why the concern. If all you're doing is fitting reflectors behind the grille you can demonstrate to anyone interested that this is all they are.
I'm guessing that the reason you want to fit reflectors is because your car is often left on an unlit street and you're concerned it's going to be hit by other traffic. If so, have you considered alternatives to fitting reflectors behind the grille? For example, you could simply put several lengths of reflective tape on the backs of the sun visors. All you'd have to do is to remember to flip them down when you leave the car. Alternatively, you could fit your bicycle reflectors to some other part of the front of the car so that they looked less like strobes, such as the lower part of the bumper.
Then again, I have found by experience that the front number plate is pretty good at reflecting the headlights of a car. Whatever you add to the front of your car really can't be much brighter than that.
